The budget will include the government's tax, spending plans and economic policy for the year ahead. Borrowing costs are currently at a 27 year high and inflation is a concern so this years budget is expected to include major tax reforms and spending adjustments.

There are many things that are speculated to be under consideration for this years budget including inheritance tax, council tax, stamp duty and capital gains tax. However, nothing will be officially announced until 26 November when the Chancellor delivers the budget.

Last years budget saw £40 billion tax announcements and included an increase to the rate of employer NICs and a Capital Gains Tax on non-residential assets increase. To get a full overview of the 2024 Autumn Budget announcements click here to down our PDF.
