National Apprenticeship Week: Niall Daysh

We’ve introduced one of our Junior Accounts Apprentice recently, you can read all about Laura here. To continue with our National Apprenticeship Week installment, today, we’re sitting down with Niall, the Junior Accountant who also joined the A P Robinson team straight from college in 2018.
Why did you choose an apprenticeship?
An apprenticeship was the best direction for me to take. I knew I wanted to become a Chartered Accountant, and completing an apprenticeship is the quickest way to get there. Plus, I should be qualified within the next 3 years.
Why did you choose to work for A P Robinson and what is it like working here?
I really wanted to work with smaller businesses and ordinary people, as opposed to getting lost within a huge multinational company. A P Robinson provided me with exactly that, whilst still being able to work on a variety of business accounts. Working here, has a uniquely friendly atmosphere, with all the partners being approachable.
What do you enjoy most about working here?
The one thing I truly enjoy the most, has to be the independence given to me since the start; I’ve been given full sets of accounts to prepare. With the team checking over them once complete – it’s been an amazing way to grow!
You joined us in 2018, what have you achieved since then?
So far, I’ve completed my certificate level ACA exams. Whilst gaining a year and half experience in my field, something I feel like I wouldn’t have achieved if I attended university.
